KYIV, July 8 – The second tranche of the European Union's macro-financial assistance depends on Ukraine's implementation of the agreed political measures, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis has said.
Dombrovskis said at the Ukraine Reform Conference in Vilnius on Thursday that the first tranche of EUR 600 million was allocated in December last year: a clear sign of European solidarity at this difficult time. The EU may allocate a second tranche when agreed policies are implemented. Recently, there has been clear progress. However, all unfulfilled political conditions must be quickly implemented, along with Ukraine's cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
