KYIV, June 23 – Metinvest, an international vertically integrated mining and metallurgical group of companies, has allocated more than $3.4 billion for environmental projects over the past ten years and plans to invest about $500 million for these purposes in the next five years, Metinvest CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He said that throughout all years of its operation, the group has been striving to reduce the negative impact of production on the environment. So, over the ten years, Metinvest has allocated more than $3.4 billion for environmental initiatives, of which almost $1 billion – for the implementation of investment projects with environmental impact.
