KYIV, June 10 – The French concern Alstom is ready to gradually localize up to 35% of production and maintenance of locomotives in Ukraine; production activities are planned to be transferred to Ukraine, starting with the 11th electric locomotive, the company has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"To take advantage of the French Treasury loan, the French government requires that at least 50% of the products covered by funding be produced in France. This is the reason why Alstom's local content volume is being implemented consistently: the first 10 electric locomotives will be manufactured in France to have these 50%; starting from the 11th electric locomotive, production activities will be transferred to Ukraine, namely: the production of locomotive bogies, including bogie frames, locomotive roofs, equipment of locomotives, as well as testing and certification," the company said.
