KYIV, June 8 - Two-thirds of Ukraine's territory is actually located in the zone of risky farming, 6 million hectares of agricultural land require conservation, this process is especially noticeable in the south of the country, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leschenko said Tuesday.
"Either we re-equip and respond to modern challenges of environmental threats, or Ukraine's agriculture will lose its leadership positions. Today, two-thirds of our territory is actually located in the zone of risky farming. In recent years, July and August have been critical for us. Last year, in some regions during four calendar months there was no precipitation at all," he said.
