KYIV, June 2 – President Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Congress in Kyiv discussed opposition to the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project and said the United States is the only one who can prevent its commissioning.

"Only the United States and the administration of President [Joe] Biden can prevent the completion and commissioning of Nord Stream 2. Nord Stream 2 is not just energy security, which all diplomats and politicians talk about, it is a separate powerful weapon of the Russian Federation, which is given to it today. And then Europe asks how you can defend against Russia. The answer is very simple – not to give weapons to the enemy," Zelensky said, according to the presidential press service.
