KYIV, May 28 - DTEK Energy's thermal power plants have reduced emissions by 58% over the past eight years thanks to investments in eco-modernization and a decrease in production due to the growth of renewable energy sources, the company said, commenting on the rating of Ember, which included a number of the company's thermal power plants among the top pollutants in Europe.
DTEK Energy, which operates eight thermal power plants, systematically invests in the modernization of its production: TPPs have reduced emissions of pollutants by 58% over the past eight years. This is the result of both a change in the energy balance due to a decrease in the share of thermal power plants and the growth of renewable energy sources, as well as the company's system investments in the construction and modernization of electrostatic precipitators," the company said in its response to the request of the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
