KYIV, May 25 – The introduction of an excise tax on electricity produced by solar and wind power plants may affect further investments in this industry and the transformation of energy into an environmentally friendly one, Deputy Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Yuriy Shafarenko has said.

"The additional load on renewable energy sources may not fully reveal the wide possibilities of transforming the energy sector into an environmentally friendly one – replacing outdated capacities with new, more efficient ones," he said in an interview with Energy Reform.
