KYIV, April 12 – Enterprises of the bioenergy industry plan to avoid paying the tax on CO2 emissions when burning solid biofuels, according to a bill with amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine posted on the website of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The bill provides for amending the Tax Code of Ukraine and establishing a zero tax rate on CO2 emissions generated during the combustion of solid biofuel by units using it as the only type of fuel and included in the register of biofuel-burning units, according to an explanatory note to the project developed by the Ministry of Energy, State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving and Bioenergy Association of Ukraine.
