KYIV, March 25 - Ukraine has to begin to form a coherent policy in the field of photovoltaic waste treatment from solar power plants (SPP), Deputy Energy Minister Yuriy Boiko said at a relevant thematic webinar organized by the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA).
"Time is running fast and the discussion on the topic of waste treatment is relevant and requires approaches and solutions today," Boiko stressed.
According to the Ministry of Energy, at the beginning of 2021, the total installed capacity of renewable energy facilities (RES) in Ukraine amounted to 8.4 GW, of which the share of industrial SPP - 6.1 GW, household SPP - 0.8 GW, which indicates the dominant position of solar generation on the renewable energy market in Ukraine.
