KYIV, March 16 – Director General of Glusco-Ukraine LLC Borys Handzha expects a long downtime of the Glusco filling station network in parallel with months of litigation with law enforcement agencies, which accuse the company of smuggling, tax evasion and the sale of low-quality fuel.
Glusco chain, which includes 127 gas stations and 6 oil depots, has been previously reported to be affiliated with Viktor Medvedchuk, the leader of the pro-Russian opposition party in Ukraine. Medvedchuk’s assets were frozen by the authorities due to his connections pro-Russian organizations fighting in Donbas.
