KYIV, Jan 29 – The adoption by Parliament of the of bill No. 4358 on the protection of the public health from harmful effects of tobacco will not allow harmonizing Ukrainian tobacco legislation with the European one, but will provoke the growth of the illegal market segment and increase the costs of legal business, the European Business Association (EBA) believes and proposes to revise it.

"The model for regulating the tobacco market, proposed by bill No. 4358, differs from the EU one, and will not ensure the fulfillment of the commitments undertaken by Ukraine under the Association Agreement," EBA Senior Manager FMCG Christina Linichenko has said.
