KYIV, Jan 29 – Swedish-based IKEA, the world's largest retailer of furniture and household goods, will open the first city-format store in Ukraine on February 1 in the Blockbuster Mall shopping and entertainment center in Kyiv, the company has reported.

"The city format store in Kyiv will be the first IKEA city format store in the region of South-Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia). This format is part of the company's new strategy, the goal of which is to get closer to people in city centers and to make its solutions and services for the home even more affordable," a press release states.
