KYIV, Jan 21 – The National Bank of Ukraine will likely keep interest rates steady at 6%, may start raising the rates in the second quarter of 2021, according to bankers polled by Interfax-Ukraine.
"I do not expect an increase in the rate at the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee. A significant acceleration of inflation, and most importantly, the risk of its prolonged stay above the target range of the regulator, may put the NBU in a mode of readiness to raise rates already in the first half of the year," Head of Investment Business of UkrSibbank Serhiy Yahnych said.
