KYIV, Nov 11 - The volume of new mortgage loans issued in January-September increased by 16%, to UAH 2.3 billion (year-over-year), while the number of new mortgage contracts decreased by 8%, to 3,640, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
According to the NBU's report, the growth in volumes is due to an increase in the average size of mortgage loans, both in the primary and secondary markets. In particular, in September the size of a mortgage loan increased by 1.4 times, to UAH 700,000 compared to the beginning of the year.
