KYIV, Nov 9 – Ukraine will seek to attract $40 billion for the development of the power generation and distribution systems by 2030, according to the government’s forecast.
At least $23 billion is needed for generation and $17 billion for transmission and distribution, according to the government.
“With regard to improving the environmental friendliness of the power sector, according to the calculations given in the document, it is envisaged to attract $10 billion of investments in renewable energy and the formation of the share of renewable energy sources of total electricity production at the level of 25%. At the same time, it is proposed to consider the possibility of producing hydrogen using excess electricity in the system with the aim of its further export to the EU,” the government said.
