KYIV, Oct 5 – The Ministry of Education and Science said that due to the lack of funding, the government intends to postpone for another year the implementation of resolution No. 822 adopted in July 2019 on the growth of teachers' salaries by 20-70%.

"On September 14, 2020, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the draft law of Ukraine on the 2021 national budget of Ukraine was approved, which provides for financing the education sector in the amount of UAH 173.8 billion, which is UAH 34 billion more than in 2020. The draft national budget of Ukraine for 2021 stipulates that the salary of an employee of the first tariff category will change twice: it will be UAH 2,670 from January 1 and UAH 2,893 from July 1. So, from January 2021 the salaries (wage rates) of public sector workers, including the field of education and science, will increase by 20%, and from July - by another 8.3%," the Education Ministry said.
