KIEV, Sept. 18 ??“ Ukraine could help Russia cut its deficit of electricity by increasing the production capacity of Ukrainian electricity plants, according to Deputy Fuel and Energy Minister Oleksiy Sheberstov.

He was quoted by Interfax-Ukraine as saying that the Ukrainian power grid has eight power generating units operating on gas and fuel oil which are idle, as the electricity they produce is now too expensive due to the increase in prices of gas.
