KYIV, Oct 2 - The rise in the cost of wheat and its processed products, the rise in prices for sugar, sunflower oil and other ingredients for the production of bread and bakery products, as well as the devaluation of the hryvnia by almost 20% from the beginning of 2020 will lead to an increase in the price of bread, Vice President of the Ukrainian Bakers' Association Yuriy Duchenko said.

"Since the beginning of the year, the cost of wheat has increased by 40%, only in September by 25%, which inevitably leads to an increase in prices for flour, which is up to 50% of the cost of bread. In addition, only last week prices for sugar, sunflower oil rose by 50% since the beginning of the year," he said.
