KIEV, Sept. 19 ??“ The investment into Tashlyk pumped-storage plant could be fully paid back in the near future thanks to the sale of greenhouse gas emissions quotas, according to First Deputy Environment Protection Minister Sviatoslav Kurulenko.
"The expenditure on the construction of Tashlyk pumped-storage plant could be paid back in the near future and almost fully thanks to compensation for greenhouse gas emissions under the Kyoto protocol," he said at a meeting to prepare the plant for launch in Yuzhnoukrainsk last week, headed by First Deputy Fuel and Energy Minister Vadym Chuprun.
