KYIV, Sept 30 – The coronavirus COVID-19 crisis has moderately influenced the activities of insurers, but significantly affected the volume of lending by other non-bank financial institutions, according to the reporting of market players provided to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) regarding the results of the first half of 2020.
Amid quarantine measures and a decrease in economic activity, insurers showed an increase in gross insurance premiums (a rise of 4.4%) in the first half of the year compared to the first quarter of 2020. In general, the volume of gross insurance premiums for this period amounted to UAH 21 billion.
