KYIV, Sept 29 - The Ministry of Energy, together with the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving and with the participation of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, have developed a number of bills on the development of bioenergy in order to create favorable conditions for replacing natural gas imports and using local fuels.
According to the ministry's website, the first bill concerns the development of the solid biofuel market, which provides for the introduction of an electronic trading system for solid biofuels.
The second bill aims to exempt biofuels from the carbon dioxide tax. In particular, it is proposed to reduce tax burden for bioenergy facilities in order to improve their investment attractiveness.
