KYIV, Sept 23 – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the recovery of the Ukrainian economy from the coronavirus crisis by the end of 2020 will become sustainable as exports have been growing strongly.
The exports continued to increase for the second quarter in a row, increasing hard currently earnings and boosting the National Bank of Ukraine’s forex reserves.
"In the second quarter, we had a recession in the economy – like in all other countries. We had a decline of 11.4% of GDP. This is the time of the strictest lockdown restrictions. But by the end of the year the economic recovery will become tangible and stable. For the second month in a row we have been recording export growth, which is a very good sign. The FX reserves of our National Bank are expanding," he said in an interview with the Slovak newspaper Hospodárske noviny.
