KYIV, Aug 25 – The head of the parliamentary committee for the nation's health, medical care and health insurance Mykhailo Radutsky has called on the Ministry of Finance to provide funding for healthcare in 2021 at 6% of GDP.
"According to my information, the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) recalculated the tariffs for medical services and reached the figure of UAH 308.8 billion. This is the amount per year that will allow medical institutions to pay absolutely adequate funds for the services provided. It is known that the National Security and Defense Council also calculated the required amount of the NHSU, but it is higher than UAH 308.8 billion. However, the Ministry of Finance proposed to take a much smaller amount for the calculation of [medical services] packages – UAH 123 billion, and in general it is planned to allocate UAH 146 billion for the medical sector in 2021," he wrote on his Facebook page.
