KYIV, Aug 14 - I&U Group has launched a new biogas complex worth EUR 23 million near the village of Kapitanivka (Kirovohrad region).
"The construction of the complex began in December 2018 and was completed in June of this year. The complex will process waste from sugar production into raw materials for thermal and electric energy and annually produce more than 48,000 MWh of "green" electricity," the Ukrainian Agrarian Association, which includes I&U Group, said on Facebook.
The owner of I&U Group, Serhiy Tarasov, said the total cost of the project was EUR23 million, of which EUR13 million was a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and EUR2 million was a soft loan from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF).
