KYIV, July 29 – The strengthening of the hryvnia in 2021 from projected UAH 29.10/$1 to UAH 28-27/$1 will cost the economy 0.2-0.5% of GDP, the Ministry for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture said in an explanatory note to the draft resolution with a revised macroeconomic forecast for the next three years.
According to the document, with an average annual exchange rate of UAH 27/$1, the growth of real GDP compared to the baseline scenario in 2021 will decrease 0.5 percentage points (pp), with the rate of UAH 28/$1 – it will fall by 0.2 percentage points.
