BRUSSELS, July 16 – In connection with the sixth anniversary of the tragedy of MH17 flight, in which 298 people died, the European Union issued a statement calling on Russia to take responsibility and cooperate in order to identify the perpetrators.
On behalf of the whole EU, this statement was made in Brussels on Friday by the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
"On 17 July, we commemorate the sixth anniversary of the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, when 298 people of 17 different nationalities lost their lives. The European Union continues to feel deep sympathy for all those who lost their loved ones," the statement reads.
