Ukraine reports 518,000 people unemployed as of July 1 on COVID-19

KYIV, July 16 – Almost 518,000 unemployed people were registered with the State Employment Service of Ukraine as of July 1.

"As of July 1, 2020, almost 518,000 unemployed people were registered with the State Employment Service. This number of people is officially registered, that is, these are the citizens who turned to the employment service for help in order to obtain unemployed status and find work," the communication department of the State Employment Service said.

It is noted that women make up 58% of them while men – 42%. Some 50% of registered unemployed people have a certificate of completion of university studies, some 33% graduated from a vocational educational institution, and 17% - from a general education school. By age groups, some 31% of the unemployed people are under 35, some 29% are between 35 and 44, and some 40% are over 45.
