KYIV, July 14 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) proposes to begin restructuring loans for which "credit holidays" are in effect for the quarantine period, even if the quarantine will be extended after July 31 to avoid a critical increase in imbalance of the banking system, said the acting governor of the NBU, Kateryna Rozhkova.
"Banks will not be able to withstand this imbalance when there are credit holidays, but not on deposits. [...] I still think that if July 31 is not the end [of quarantine], then we'll talk about needed restructuring now," she said in an interview to Interfax-Ukraine.
