KIEV, Sept. 8 ??“ The cancellation of a law banning the import of cars produced more than eight years ago, a cancellation necessary were Ukraine to join the World Trade Organization, would result in increase in second-hand car imports from 7,000 in 2005 to 10,000 per year, the Economy Ministry forecasts.
"It is necessary to recall that in 2000, some 200,000 second-hand cars were imported to Ukraine. The economic growth in the country changed the consuming preferences of the Ukrainians, who prefer to purchase new cars now," Deputy Economy Minister Valeriy Piatnytsky said.
