KYIV, July 7 – Ukraine may enter the heating season 2020/2021 with reserves of natural gas in its underground storage facilities (UGS) in the amount of 25.5-26.5 billion cubic meters (bcm), Director General of JSC Ukrtransgaz Serhiy Alekseyenko has said.
"We expect that by the beginning of the taking season, Ukrainian underground gas storages will be filled by about 25.5-26.5 billion cubic meters. In 2020, the active gas volume in underground gas storages will increase to 20% compared with the highest rate in the last ten years, reached in 2019, standing at 21.8 billion cubic meters. If such a task is completed, this injection season will be the most productive in the history of Ukrainian gas storage facilities," the company's press service said.
