KYIV, July 3 – Politicians and government figures wanted the central bank to weaken the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar to benefit exporters and to increase inflation targets, said Yakiv Smolii, who last week resigned as the central bank governor.
The figures wanted the National Bank of Ukraine to weaken the hryvnia to 30 hryvnias per U.S. dollar, and demanded inflation targets to increase to 11% in 2020, Smolii said.
