Ukraine cuts ferroalloy output 21.3% on year in Jan-May

KYIV, June 16 - Ukraine reduced ferroalloy output 21.3% year-on-year in January-May, to 340,300 tons, the Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers' Association told Interfax-Ukraine.

Ukraine's biggest ferroalloy smelters, Nikopol Ferroalloy Works (NFW) and Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Works (ZFW), reduced silicon manganese production 27.6%, to 253,580 tons. Kramatorsk Ferroalloy Works (KFW) produced 27,660 tons in the five months of 2020 – no figures for this plant are available for the same period last year. The three plants combined raised ferromanganese production 76.8% year-on-year, to 62,360 tons.
