KYIV, June 3 – Ukrainian business leaders remain pessimistic about economic prospects despite a slight improvement in business activity in May, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported Wednesday.

The Business Activity Outlook Index (BAOI) grew by 8 points to 36.6 points in May, which is lower than the neutral index reading of about 50 and means that pessimistic expectations of business prevail, the NBU said.
