KYIV, June 2 – McDonald's will focus on building new restaurants to expand in Ukraine, but will postpone upgrading existing outlets in the country due to coronavirus restrictions, the company said Tuesday.
McDonald's currently operates a chain of 93 restaurants in 20 Ukrainian cities with the first restaurant opened on May 24, 1997.
McDonald's invested UAH 500 million to open five restaurants in Ukraine in 2019, and plans to open another five restaurants in 2020, mostly in large cities, despite delays in March through early June caused by the coronavirus lockdown.
