KIEV, Sept. 2 ??“ President Viktor Yushchenko has said any artificial reduction of the nominal exchange rate of the hryvnia would produce a number of negative effects.

Yushchenko made comments amid speculations in the media that the government of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych may try to lower the value of the hryvnia against the dollar in order to encourage exports.
