DTEK plans to restart coal mining operations after closures

KYIV, May 12 – To ensure the fulfillment of the updated forecast balance of the power system, the country's largest coal mining enterprise Pavlohradvuhillia must be relaunched from May 15, Dobropilliavuhillia from June 1, DTEK Energy CEO Dmytro Sakharuk said.

"We analyzed the approved balance [the forecast balance of the electric power system] and we see that coal is in demand to ensure the approved balance. We prepared and submitted the coal balance sheet to the ministry. We see that we need to relaunch Pavlohradvuhillia on May 15, Dobropilliavuhillia from June 1," Sakharuk said during a conference call at the Energy Ministry on Friday, which was broadcast on YouTube.
