KYIV, May 11 – Ukraine’s largest steelmaking firm ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih said the price of power in the country exceeds power prices in Europe making the company’s steel less competitive on international markets.
"The Ukrainian power market is outside the global trend, and from the end of April we have seen even growth in day-ahead market. This situation puts internal metallurgy in a non-competitive position in the world market compared to other steel producers," the company said, citing head of the procurement department at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Oleh Aiko.
