KYIV, May 6 – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy asked the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to support Ukraine’s small and medium-size businesses that were hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, the presidential office reported.
"We understand that small and micro businesses suffer the most, and that is our economy,” Zelenskiy told EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti in a phone call. “I suggest that the EBRD consider ways to support the government's actions to launch a program of large-scale financing of SMEs, as well as providing guarantees for such loans."
Zelenskiy also outlined infrastructure projects that could help create a lot of jobs after the pandemic is over.
