KYIV, April 24 – Former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, who may join the Ukrainian government, said he would primarily focus on engaging in talks with the International Monetary Fund to help Ukraine get through coronavirus crisis.
Zelenskiy suggested nominating Saakashvili for the post of deputy prime minister for reforms, but the nomination must be approved by Parliament.
"The president instructed me to engage in negotiations with the IMF and international financial organizations. Ukraine needs a lot more help than it receives," Saakashvili said on Friday before meeting with deputies of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.
