KYIV, April 15 – The government has to step in and financially support artists, writers and performers in Ukraine as their income has plummeted from coronavirus quarantine across the country, a senior lawmaker said Wednesday.

These people represent an industry that generates up to 4% of the GDP, and the quarantine has hit them hard, Oleksandr Tkachenko, the head of the Parliamentary committee for humanitarian policy, said.
