Land legislation not likely to boost rapid economic growth in short-term
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, April 1 – The adoption of the law on opening of the land market in Ukraine by Parliament is a positive step, although many restrictions outlined in it would not contribute to the large economic growth in the short term, an agriculture business executive said.

"If one soberly looks at the land market option, you can state the following: Pros are that the law was nevertheless passed, thereby crossing the line that could not be crossed for almost 30 years. Politicians united to save Ukraine from default, having received the necessary funds from the IMF Finally, politicians have shown that it is possible and necessary to carry out difficult reforms even in difficult times. Gradual legalization of illegal funds will begin, mainly by purchasing land," IMC agroholding CEO Alex Lissitsa wrote on his Facebook page.
