KYIV, March 30 – Ukraine’s consumer electronics and computer sales online surged 20% within the first week of quarantine, while brick-and-mortar store sales plunged 54% in the same period, GfK Ukraine reported Monday.
Overall sales, which are heavily weighted towards brick-and-mortar stores, dropped 37% in the first week of quarantine, GfK Ukraine said.
"On average, at the beginning of 2020, online sales amounted to about 21%, and during the 12th week their share was 44%, which is quite natural against the backdrop of the closure of bricks-and-mortar stores and restrictions on the movement of citizens," the company's press release said.
