ASHGABAT, Aug. 29 ??“ Ukraine wants to develop economic cooperation with Turkmenistan, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Viktor Maiko has said.

"Ukraine and Turkmenistan have great potential for the further development of mutually beneficial relations. Our country has confirmed its interest in long-term cooperation with Turkmenistan in the gas sector, in boosting the capacity of the existing routes for Turkmen natural gas exports and the construction of new gas pipelines," the diplomat said in a speech to mark Ukraine's Independence Day, which was published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
