KYIV, March 6 – Ukraine's economy contracted 0.5% on the year in January, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture has said based on report from the State Statistics Service.

"In January, the decrease in the Composite Production Index was 2.6% and, accordingly, the decline in GDP was estimated at 0.5%," the ministry said in a review of economic activity for January.
