KYIV, Feb 26 – The arrival of a large investor for manufacturing of electric cars in Ukraine could trigger the public policy – the switch from tax benefits for imports of electric cars to stimulation of their manufacturing, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Riabchyn has said.

"An investor, who intends to build an electric car factory and create here either a Semi Knocked Down (SKD) assembly or a Complete Knock Down (CKD) assembly of Ukrainian electric cars, is arriving. Then we need to cancel import-stimulating measures – zero excise tax and zero VAT – and stimulate the national producer," he told Interfax-Ukraine on the sidelines of the Reforms Forum on Tuesday.
