WARSAW, Aug. 17 - The Ukrainian sugar maker Astarta Kiev opened nearly flat on its Thursday debut, at PLN 19.05 per share, up 0.26%.

Representatives of the company and the Warsaw Stock Exchange downplayed the significance of the relatively weak debut, expressing hope for more ties between Ukrainian companies and the Polish stock market.
