KYIV, Dec. 17 - Ukraine will delay for at least one month the restart of a nuclear power reactor whose malfunction in August has already cost the country $160 million in repairs, Energoatom officials said Tuesday.
The 1,000-MW unit No. 1 at Khmelnytskiy NPP was shut in emergency on August 14 following the malfunction, and it is now expected to be back online on January 27, 2020.
This is the second delay as the unit was originally supposed to be restarted at the end of November.
