KYIV, Dec. 17 - The European Energy Community has certified the Operator GTS of Ukraine as the country’s natural gas shipper in line with a plan to split the national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny to reflect European energy legislation.

The move will probably make OGTS the sole shipper of Russian natural gas to Europe across Ukraine starting January 1, 2020 thus replacing Naftogaz in the process.
