KYIV, Dec 3 – Parliament approved a bill that cancel the government’s monopoly on alcohol production in Ukraine, opening up the sector for privatization that would boost economic growth.
The bill was submitted by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy as part of his deregulation plan to attract more investors to all sectors of the economy.
The bill was backed by 284 lawmakers, namely 229 MPs from the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, three from Batkivschyna, 19 from the Holos (Voice) Party, 14 from the For Future parliamentary group, and 19 independent lawmakers.
