DNIPROPETROVSK, Aug. 11 - Ukrainian iron and steel plants intend to produce 36 million tons of pig iron in 2007, 11.1% more than the figure expected for this year, Deputy Industrial Policy Minister Vladimir Granovsky said.

Companies have already notified industry association Metallurgprom and the Industrial Policy Ministry about plans to substantially increase production, he said at a mining and metals industry meeting.
